Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel-Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany, 2020:

The Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award honours promising researchers for their academic achievements to date. Up to 20 awards funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research are granted by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation every year. bThe award winners are also invited to conduct research projects of their own choice at a research institution in Germany with local specialist colleagues. This includes a total stay of six months to a whole year. Vreni worked at the Zoological State Collection of Munich with Dr. Michael Schrödl and Dr. Roland Melzer. At the annual meeting she could pass her book “BiodiversiTOT” (BioDIEversity) to German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier
